Cycling is one of the oldest vehicles used by man. It consists of a lightweight built on two wheels (One after another, each crossed by cable), a seat, handlebars (which are counterpart of steering wheel), brakes, and a couple of pedals or a small motor to promote cycling. To know and learn on a bike, you should understand the basic bicycle parts as they work in combination –
Brake – Used to slow the bike. Can be controlled by brake levers that mount on the handlebars (as in the case of disc brakes and rim brakes) or can be operated by pedaling backward (as is the case with wheel brakes).
Handlebar – This is the part where a rider places his hands to provide balance of the bike. May be straight, cylindrical or curved. It has a handle at each end, each is equipped with grips to provide firm hold of the bar. It also helps in the direction of the bike to provide the necessary pressure. Last handlebars also allow the rider to change body position for a long trip.
Chain – Set the action of propelling the bike by transferring power to the pedals to the wheels. The chains have increased biker safety by allowing manufacturers to reduce the size of the wheel. Recently, progress has been made for the chains that can provide a gear mechanism for bicycles. In order to get good speed, it is necessary to lubricate bicycle chain from time to time, or get rusty.
Rueda – Bicycles ride on wheels. The wheel pair consists of an outer edge that is connected to the central point of coordination with radios. A nut is used to tighten the spokes at both ends.
Cover – Covers the outer circumference of the bicycle wheel and inflated with air. Because of its shape (usually circular) and air filled inside, that allows the bike to sail. Right amount of air that needs to be filled inside the tire so it provides optimum friction to the ground, which is transmitted maximum speed of the pedal to the wheel.
In order to purchase and maintain a good bicycle, a person should understand what each party makes the bike. Although it might seem trivial when seen separately, but when run in combination, produce an emotion and experience, you can not afford to lose.
