Backpacking: Any use of large Agnes sleeping bag or similar?
I'm in the market for my sleeping bag on the side. I'm looking at the Big Agnes system requires a sleeping bag that slips into a pocket under the bag. The theory is that the sleeping bag under you is to keep the heat so we rely on your pillow and save weight. Big Agnes anyone have or use the same type of system?
I have a bag of 20 degrees of BA and REM Hinman pad and I absolutely LOVE them. Mine is a huge bag (Hogpark 20) and 2.5 "thick pad that I use only for camping vehicles and / or canoe / kayak camping. Definitely not backpacker environment. The system, however, I love it. I'm interested in getting your central air cushion insulation (on my list for Santa), so that could possibly be held on a weekend backpacking cold night. Hinman pad is huge (25 "wide and heavy), and variety alone air core pad just small and light that saves me to manage weight sleeping bag on a long walk. Sleeping out on Lake Mead on a windy night in temperatures in the mid- 30's, no shop, no trees for protection from the wind, and was completely comfortable, I had to unzip and paste a leg from time to time really cool. Very nice not to roll off the track, and baffles around the zipper and neck are a great feature. The bag is too big for me, but I have a lot of screaming him a couple of years and could not pass … $ 69.99 for both the bag and pad together! (Total of stealing)
