Why color code used to display the values of carbon resistors?
My question is why the color code was designed to show / express the numerical values of carbon resistors? I mean, why simple numbers such as 100, 2000 or 5500, etc. are not used for this purpose? What are the advantages of using this code instead of numbers?
Look at the size of a medium strength. Your eyes could be good enough to read "small number of tiny, but mine are not. What if the resistance has been installed with the numbers down instead up – "So it's a practical matter you can read the color bands, no matter what the direction of resistance, was installed in a barrel.
