Smart Parts Ion – A review
The Smart Parts Ion marker is a high-end electronic gun for only a little more than the price of entry package average. That low price comes with many advantages and some disadvantages and the items you can update yourself. While it is best to start playing paintball marker mechanic, once you are ready to to electronics, the ion is an excellent investment that will not leave you broke.
Feedneck – The stock feedneck provided with the Smart Parts Ion is perhaps his biggest negative. There have been numerous user complaints about the inability to adequately adapt to their feeders the feedneck. The best solution is to replace the Ion feedneck standard as soon as possible. If you choose a clamping feedneck to replace the stock with it, should not have problems after that.
Barrel – The stock barrel ion has a powder coated finish, some people do not like the appearance as well as other barrels that have high gloss finish. Do not let looks fool you, however, the performance of the stock barrel is surprisingly good. Occasionally you may run across the stock barrel that has had too much powder coating applied and that may have gotten inside the barrel through the gun ports. If that is the case for your marker clean dust from inside the barrel with a rifle or gun cleaner gun. Powder coating itself is hard enough without doing this, the accuracy be affected. Once the interior is clean and ready to rock and roll. Although most people will prefer to improve their barrel regardless of the Smart Ion Parts actually has a precision worthy of a barrel of values.
Regulator – For the most part, the Ion regulator preforms very well. From time to time people have known get a faulty regulator that constantly lap. Obviously this is a problem with the manufacturer. Trigger – The trigger of the Ion is strong and relentless. It takes a lot of time to get used to and without practice can contribute to a hard pull. The trigger itself is plastic which means you can, and occasionally break. The magnets that come with the trigger actions are quite strong and are made of a hard pull. You can choose to update any of its actions with a market share or after spending some time to adjust to your liking.
For a high-end electronic marker practically the entry-level prices, the Smart Parts Ion is an excellent business. The polymer body stands up to abuse and has proved very resilient. There are probably some changes that have to do yourself after your purchase of Ion, but for many people that is part of the fun there. Make sure a new feedneck is one of the updates first and many will enjoy years of broadcasting painting.
